Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty equipment including trucks. Your expertise will ensure that all vehicles and machinery operate efficiently, safely, and reliably. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse equipment types. We are looking for someone that can work afternoons and on call/ part time through the week for emergency calls. Trucks run throughout the day, so most work will be performed after 3PM Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes, shocks & struts, and air brake systems. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, and fluid replacements to ensure optimal performance. Fabricate and modify parts using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific repair needs. Use schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical systems, HVAC units. Repair and maintain dump trucks to minimize downtime and maximize productivity. Assist with assembly and disassembly of equipment components during repairs or upgrades while adhering to safety standards. Qualifications 3 Years Shop or mechanic associated job experience Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and vehicle maintenance procedures. Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and farm machinery. Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex systems. Skilled in welding, fabrication, soldering, tire service, alignment techniques, HVAC repairs, and suspension work. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and automotive repair software effectively. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to maintenance tasks. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working in various environmental conditions.
