Job Description

Job Overview We are a small-owned company in business for over 15 years. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining our fleet of Volvo semi trucks and trailers. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of our fleet and machinery. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brake systems. Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, shocks & struts replacement, and alignment checks to keep equipment operating at peak efficiency. Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers. Fabricate parts or components as needed using power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and hand tools to ensure proper fit and function. Repair and maintain farm machinery, industrial equipment, automotive systems, HVAC units, and other specialized machinery requiring mechanical knowledge. Assist with assembly or disassembly of equipment during repairs or upgrades while adhering to safety standards. Maintain detailed service records, inspection logs, and repair documentation to ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational standards. Requirements At least 1 year experience in similar role Knowledge of DOT requirements regarding service, record keeping, compliance, and repair of equipment Must be able to perform Federal Annual Inspections of all trailers Exhibits a fundamental understanding of repairing and rebuilding components on dry van trailers Class A CDL Strong mechanical aptitude Welding & fabrication experience is a plus
