- We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic team.
This is a permanent full-time position where you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines for our extensive range of heavy equipment and motors. You will be an integral part of our manufacturing operations, ensuring that our machinery is running at optimum performance levels. This role requires a hands-on approach, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
Responsibilities:
As a Diesel Mechanic, your main duties and responsibilities will include: 1. Performing diagnostic tests on diesel engines and interpreting the results to identify mechanical problems. 2. Carrying out routine maintenance work, including replacing parts, servicing, and checking the performance of heavy equipment and motors. 3. Repairing and replacing faulty parts and components, including pistons, bearings, gears, valves, and bushings. 4. Overhauling and testing major components such as engines, transmissions, and differentials. 5. Inspecting, repairing, and maintaining various types of heavy equipment, including bulldozers, cranes, graders, and excavators. 6. Keeping detailed records of the maintenance and repair work carried out, including the time taken and the parts used. 7. Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. 8. Keeping up-to-date with the latest developments in diesel engine technology and incorporating this knowledge into your work.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have the following qualifications: 1. A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Diesel Mechanic. 2. Extensive knowledge of diesel engine components and systems. 3. Proficiency in using diagnostic testing equipment to identify mechanical problems. 4. The ability to interpret technical manuals and drawings. 5. A proven track record of carrying out repairs and maintenance work to a high standard. 6. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. 7. Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical issues in simple terms. 8. A valid driver's license and the ability to operate heavy machinery. 9. Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy objects. 10. A diploma or certificate in diesel engine repair or a related field is preferred.
