Job Description

Job Summary:
The Diesel Technician I is responsible for the full range of truck and heavy equipment maintenance and repair needed to keep all Zemba Companies' vehicles and equipment in good running condition. This includes both gas and diesel engines. The Diesel Technician I will inspect all diesel and gas powered equipment to determine necessary corrective action by performing diagnostic tests and repairs along with the fabrication and repairs of trailers, steel beds, tanks, etc.
Essential Functions:
Report all non-conforming material to the Truck / Fleet & Services Manager immediately. Ensure assigned work is understood prior to commencing. Complete assigned work within given timeframe and according to specifications. Complete routine maintenance and repairs of diesel and gas trucks and heavy equipment. Comply with standards and procedures of the company's health and safety regulations. Competencies or Experience Requirements Class B - CDL License preferred. 1-3 years gas/diesel engine experience. Diagnosis of engine, air and hydraulic systems and electrical systems. Ability and wiliness to follow directions as well as the ability to work independently. Good verbal communication skills. Education Requirements High School diploma or general education degree (GED) Safety Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Manual of Safety Practices and Procedures.
