Shop Supervisor / Lead Mechanic Role Overview Working under the guidance of senior technicians and shop management, this entry-level role focuses on supporting the inspection, routine maintenance, and fundamental repair of heavy equipment and diesel vehicles. It is a perfect opportunity for those eager to launch or advance their professional journey in the field of fleet maintenance.
Core Responsibilities:
Help verify the safe functionality of engines, steering components, emissions, wheel assemblies, and braking systems. Execute routine preventive maintenance tasks such as tire rotations, oil changes, and brake servicing. Engage in professional development and training initiatives to enhance your technical mechanical abilities. Contribute to the completion of safety, brake, and DOT inspections while receiving direct oversight. Ensure all repair logs are precise and that assigned work orders are finalized in a timely manner. Help maintain a safe working environment for the entire team by adhering to all established safety protocols and keeping the shop tidy. Apply a foundational understanding of how hydraulic systems operate.
Qualifications and Background:
Ideally, candidates possess two to three years of experience working as a technician or in a related mechanical capacity. Familiarity with federal safety mandates, OSHA guidelines, and DOT regulations. Proficiency in utilizing standard diagnostic equipment and basic computer software. Possession of a Class A or B CDL is preferred, though candidates must be willing to secure one within half a year. Holding ASE certifications is advantageous, and we actively support the pursuit of further professional credentials. Help foster a collaborative atmosphere by utilizing strong communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Demands:
Capable of lifting weights up to 50 lbs and managing push/pull tasks up to 100 lbs. Regularly required to stand, kneel, bend, climb, and perform duties within diverse shop environments. Ability to operate various shop tools or heavy trucks as the job requires.
