In this role, you will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of our fleet of semi-tractors and trailers. We are specifically seeking a technician with strong foundational certifications and advanced troubleshooting skills, particularly in modern computer diagnostics and ECM reprogramming. Key Responsibilities Diagnostics & Programming:
Utilize advanced computer diagnostic software to troubleshoot engine, transmission, and electrical faults. Perform ECM/PCM reprogramming and parameter adjustments on semi-tractors.
Engine Repair:
Diagnose, repair, and overhaul diesel engines, components, and aftertreatment systems (DPF, SCR, EGR).
Brakes & Suspension:
Inspect, service, and repair air brake systems (including ABS), steering mechanisms, and suspension components to ensure compliance with DOT standards.
Electrical Systems:
Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical circuits, wiring harnesses, charging systems, and electronic components.
Preventative Maintenance:
Perform routine PM services, including oil changes, fluid checks, tire inspections, and safety audits.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate, digital records of all repairs, parts used, and maintenance performed.
Qualifications & Requirements Required:
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working as a heavy-duty diesel technician on class 7/8 semi-tractors.
Certifications:
Existing industry certifications in the following core areas: Diesel Engines Brakes (Air Brakes / DOT inspection qualified)
Suspension & Steering Electrical/Electronic Systems Diagnostic Skills:
Proven proficiency using OEM diagnostic software (e.g., Cummins Insite, Detroit
DDDL, CAT
Electronic Technician, or JPro).
Tools:
Must possess a complete set of personal hand tools and air tools appropriate for heavy truck repair.
License:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred:
ASE Certifications:
Medium/Heavy Truck Technicians (Series T) certifications are highly desirable.
CDL:
A valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (to test-drive tractors) is a major plus.
Reprogramming:
Direct experience flashing modules and performing software updates on semi-tractors.
Pay:
$22.00 - $28.00 per hour
