Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine repair and maintenance, with a focus on heavy equipment and automotive diagnostics. This role requires mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that all equipment is operating efficiently and safely. Duties Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, including but not limited to transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, and HVAC. Diagnose mechanical issues using automotive diagnostics tools and schematics. Conduct repairs on various types of heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, farm machinery, and tractor-trailers. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for assembly and repair tasks. Maintain accurate records of service performed and parts used. Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their equipment needs. Assist in the training of junior mechanics or apprentices as needed. Adhere to safety protocols while performing all duties. Skills Proven experience in diesel engine repair and maintenance. Familiarity with dealership experience is a plus. Proficient in the operation of heavy equipment and industrial machinery. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools. Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting purposes. Experience with automotive repair including brake repair, shocks & struts, alignment, tire service, and assembly tasks. Knowledge of electrical systems related to vehicles is beneficial. Fabrication skills are an advantage for custom repairs or modifications. Capability to perform heavy lifting as required during repairs or maintenance tasks. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a strong attention to detail.
