Job Description
Who We Are A+ Towing is a fast-paced, 24/7 towing and recovery company serving Eugene and surrounding areas. We take pride in running a reliable, professional operation and that starts with a solid fleet and a mechanic who knows how to keep it that way. Job Overview We are looking for a skilled, self-sufficient Diesel Fleet Mechanic who can take ownership of our fleet and keep it running at a high level. This is not an entry-level position you need to be able to diagnose, repair, and get trucks back on the road without hand-holding. Fleet You'll Work On Kenworth
- Peterbilt
- Western Star
- Ford
- Chevy Tow trucks, flatbeds, wreckers, and support equipment What You'll Be Doing Perform routine maintenance and preventative service on a mixed fleet Diagnose and repair diesel engines, electrical systems, and hydraulics Work on air brake systems, transmissions, and HVAC Fabricate, weld, and modify components when needed Handle breakdowns and get equipment back in service fast Inspect equipment for safety and DOT compliance Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed Track repairs, maintenance, and parts usage Manage and maintain parts inventory Maintain a clean, organized shop and parts room at all times Steam clean engines and chassis to maintain equipment condition and visibility for inspections Requirements Proven experience with diesel and fleet repair Strong diagnostic skills you can find and fix the problem, not guess at it Ability to weld, fabricate, and handle real-world repairs Knowledge of air brakes, hydraulics, electrical systems, and drivetrains Ability to work independently and stay productive without supervision Someone who takes pride in their work and does it right the first time Takes ownership of shop cleanliness and organization—not just repairs Keeps tools, work areas, and parts organized—this is a working shop, not a mess Schedule Full-Time Tuesday - Saturday 8-hour shifts Overtime may be required based on workload Bottom Line If you're the kind of mechanic who can figure it out, fix it, and run a clean, efficient shop while keeping trucks working , we want to talk to you.
