Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and energetic Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty equipment, including trucks, construction machinery, and industrial vehicles. Your expertise will ensure equipment operates efficiently, safely, and reliably, supporting our operations and customer service commitments. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics using schematics, automotive diagnostics tools, and mechanical knowledge to identify issues with diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, brakes, and electrical systems. Repair and overhaul heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and farm machinery with precision and attention to detail. Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, tire service, air brake inspections, wheel alignments, shocks & struts replacement, and HVAC system servicing. Fabricate parts or components as needed using power tools and welding techniques to ensure proper fit and function. Utilize hand tools and power tools for assembly, disassembly, repairs, and equipment repair tasks in accordance with safety standards. Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all repairs performed; interpret schematics and technical manuals to facilitate accurate repairs. Assist with heavy lifting tasks and perform welding or soldering work when required to restore equipment functionality. Qualifications Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in diesel engine repair and automotive diagnostics. Dealership experience or extensive work with heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, or farm machinery is highly preferred. Knowledge of hydraulics, air brake systems, transmissions, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and electrical troubleshooting. Skilled in fabricating parts using welding or soldering techniques; familiar with the use of hand tools and power tools for various repair tasks. Ability to read schematics accurately and interpret technical manuals effectively. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients and team members. Capable of heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during complex repairs.
