Fire Mechanic

Job Summary Must have the skills, experience, and certifications necessary to diagnose, repair, maintain, and inspect City of Erie standard vehicles and Fire Trucks. Maintain flexibility to participate in on-call rotations. Specific training will be provided. Will perform duties as directed by the Chief Mechanic. Specific Duties Perform mechanical repairs and maintenance, with the other department mechanics, on all department equipment. The work is performed, on site, at the department's maintenance facility and off site, at any location the equipment may be located. Participate as part of the mechanical team rotation, in providing service on-call for any off duty hours. Conduct PA State vehicle inspections. Qualifications U.S. Citizen 18 years of age High School or GED CDL DL, class A or B Pa State inspection license class 1 and 3, OR class 4, OR class 7 Have a minimum of 5 years as diesel mechanic Must have own tools
