Monday-Friday (Shop Role) + Rotating On-Call (Road Service Role)

$25•38/hr (Based on Experience) + On-Call Bonus Opportunities Position Summary Promotive is hiring Heavy-Duty Diesel Technicians for a top-performing fleet service provider in Plymouth Meeting, PA . This opportunity includes two distinct roles : In-Shop Diesel Technician (Monday-Friday) Road Service Diesel Technician (Mobile / On-Call Rotation) Candidates may be considered for one or both roles depending on experience and preference. Whether you enjoy the structure of a well-equipped shop or the freedom of working out of a fully loaded service truck, this team has you covered. If you like variety in your day—and don't mind the occasional "hero moment" on the side of the highway—this is a great fit. Key Responsibilities In-Shop Diesel Technician Diagnose and repair Class 6-8 diesel trucks (all makes/models) Perform DOT inspections and complete documentation Service engines, drivetrains, brakes, suspension, steering, and electrical systems Complete preventative maintenance and routine services Perform DPF/DOC service, APU repairs, and hydraulic system work Assist with welding and fabrication as needed Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment (yes, even that one corner) Road Service Diesel Technician (Mobile Role) Perform on-site diagnostics and roadside repairs on trucks and trailers Respond to emergency issues such as air leaks, brake failures, lighting, and fuel system problems Utilize mobile diagnostic tools like Pro-Link and Diesel Laptops Maintain and restock service truck inventory (fluids, filters, parts) Communicate with dispatch and respond to calls across the greater Philadelphia area Participate in a rotating on-call schedule Represent the company professionally in high-pressure roadside situations (coffee helps, but skill matters more) Qualifications 2-5+ years of experience as a diesel technician or heavy-duty mechanic PA State Inspection License (REQUIRED for BOTH roles) Class A CDL License (REQUIRED) Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities Experience with mobile service (preferred for road role) ASE certifications and/or S7 certification preferred Ability to work independently and as part of a team Comfortable with on-call rotation (for road service role) Valid driver's license with clean record Must pass background check and drug screening Compensation & Benefits Hourly pay: $25•38/hr depending on experience and certifications On-call bonuses (road service role) 401(k) with 3% employer match Health, dental, and vision insurance Company-paid $15K life insurance (option to increase) Short-term and long-term disability Paid time off and 6 paid holidays Paid training, ASE certification support, and tuition reimbursement Access to advanced shop and mobile diagnostic equipment Stable, full-time work with career advancement opportunities Why This Shop Stands Out One of Pennsylvania's largest full-service heavy-duty fleet providers Offers both structured shop work and fully equipped mobile service trucks GPS-dispatched fleet with state-of-the-art tools and technology Family-owned, team-oriented culture with 30+ years of success Strong leadership, consistent workflow, and growth opportunities Ongoing training through industry partnerships and alliances You'll never be bored—unless everything runs perfectly (and let's be honest… it won't) Whether you prefer the consistency of the shop or the independence of the road, there's a place for you here.
