Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of machinery used across various industrial and agricultural applications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse equipment, including trucks, excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery, utilizing your mechanical knowledge and hands-on skills to keep operations running smoothly. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, suspension components, and electrical systems using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) schematics and automotive diagnostic tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other industrial machinery to ensure safety and efficiency. Fabricate custom parts or modifications using welding, soldering, power tools, and hand tools to meet specific operational needs. Inspect and service vehicle systems including tire service, alignment, brake repair, HVAC systems, and powertrain components. Utilize heavy equipment operation skills to assist in the assembly or disassembly of machinery during repairs or upgrades. Follow safety protocols related to heavy lifting, equipment operation, electrical work, and welding to maintain a safe work environment. Maintain detailed service records and logs of all repairs performed for accountability and future reference. Qualifications Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engine repair in dealership or industrial settings. Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics and electrical systems; familiarity with Schematics is highly desirable. Experience working with OEM parts and understanding of Caterpillar or similar heavy equipment brands. Ability to operate heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers safely and efficiently. Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; comfortable working with power tools and hand tools. Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures including tire service, brake repair, suspension alignment, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and transmissions. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members. Physical ability for heavy lifting and performing manual tasks in various environmental conditions.
