No Location CountyCayuga Street AddressAuburn Correctional Facility 135 State Street CityAuburn StateNY Zip Code13024 Job Specifics Duties DescriptionPerform skilled mechanical work in the automotive repair shops in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of gasoline, diesel powered, and alternative fuel self-propelled motor-driven equipment, and perform routine maintenance and mechanical repairs on disabled vehicles, constriction, and other equipment in the field. You may, under the direction of a higher-level maintenance supervisor and other related titles, diagnose and repair self-propelled and non-self-propelled vehicles and equipment. May supervise incarcerated individuals in performance of automotive maintenance tasks. Minimum QualificationsMinimum Qualifications for
Non-Competitive Appointment:
four years of experience as an automotive or diesel mechanic responsible for the diagnosis of faulty vehicle and/or equipment operation and the performance of mechanical repairs covering several aspects of automotive and/or diesel systems; or successful completion of the New York State Department of Labor approved Diesel Engine Mechanic apprenticeship; or an associate's degree in automotive or diesel repair technology.
