Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Vac Truck Diesel Mechanic to become a part of our vibrant maintenance team. In this essential position, you will be tasked with diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of vac trucks and heavy machinery utilized in industrial and construction environments. Your expertise will guarantee that our equipment functions efficiently, safely, and dependably, thereby supporting our operational objectives. This role presents an exciting opportunity for mechanics who are passionate about heavy machinery, automotive diagnostics, and diesel engine repair to excel in a fast-paced setting where safety and quality are paramount. Duties Conduct thorough inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on vac trucks, encompassing diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes, shocks & struts, and HVAC components. Employ schematics and technical manuals to effectively troubleshoot intricate mechanical and electrical problems. Perform fabrication tasks such as welding, soldering, and assembling parts to repair or modify equipment as necessary. Operate heavy machinery, including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers, to assist with repairs or safely relocate equipment within the shop or job sites. Keep detailed service records and documentation of repairs conducted using computerized maintenance management systems. Assist with tire services, wheel alignments, air brake systems, and other vehicle maintenance activities to uphold optimal safety standards. Skillfully use power tools and hand tools for assembly, disassembly, welding, or fabrication tasks while following safety protocols. Enhance customer service efforts by effectively communicating with team members and clients regarding repair status and recommendations. Experience Demonstrated mechanic experience with heavy equipment operation and automotive repair in a dealership or industrial context. Robust background in diesel engine repair, with knowledge of transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and HVAC components.
Pay:
$25.00 - $40.00 per hour
