Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty equipment, including trucks, construction machinery, and industrial vehicles. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment operates efficiently, safely, and reliably, supporting our operations across various sectors. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brake systems using schematics and automotive diagnostic tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, and tractor-trailers to ensure optimal performance. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, power tools, and hand tools to meet specific repair requirements. Replace or repair shocks & struts, tires, brakes, alignments, HVAC systems, and other critical components to maintain safety standards. Interpret technical schematics and service manuals to troubleshoot issues accurately; utilize electrical experience for wiring repairs or sensor diagnostics. Perform preventive maintenance tasks including oil changes, fluid checks, filter replacements, and system inspections to minimize downtime. Assist with assembly or disassembly of machinery during repairs or upgrades; conduct heavy lifting safely when handling large parts or equipment. Skills Proven dealership experience with heavy diesel equipment repair and maintenance. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and HVAC components. Skilled in fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; proficient with power tools and hand tools. Ability to read schematics accurately for troubleshooting complex systems on excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery. Experience operating heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers is highly desirable. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members. Physical capability for heavy lifting and performing manual repairs in various environments; safety-conscious approach at all times.
