Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Schneider Tree Care. In this role, you will be responsible for repairing all types of vehicles and equipment, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently. We work on a fleet of vehicles and equipment so things are constantly rotating through with different issues that range from replacing windshield wipers to swapping an engine! Responsibilities Repair automobiles, trucks, and various pieces of equipment (including equipment such as chippers, mini skids, lifts, etc...) Perform routine vehicle/equipment maintenance and DOT Inspections Use diagnostic tools to test vehicle components Perform quality inspections prior to returning the vehicle to the customer Help clean, maintain, and organize the shop Assist other mechanics on jobs when needed Ability to diagnose and repair equipment both in the shop and in the field with limited resources when needed Requirements Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role Knowledge of shop equipment Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Deadline and detail-oriented Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment A team player with a willingness to learn A driver's license and an excellent driving record
