Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine repair and a passion for maintaining and improving the performance of heavy-duty vehicles. This role involves diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that all equipment operates safely and efficiently. The Diesel Mechanic will work primarily on diesel-powered equipment, contributing to the overall reliability of our fleet. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair diesel engines, including troubleshooting mechanical issues. Perform maintenance on tractor-trailer systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Conduct air brake inspections and repairs to maintain optimal braking performance. Execute brake repairs, including both hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Carry out automotive repairs as needed, utilizing diagnostic tools and equipment. Work with Caterpillar engines and related components to ensure proper functionality. Utilize welding skills for repairs on various equipment as required. Conduct equipment repair tasks, including alignment adjustments to enhance vehicle performance. Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed on each vehicle. Skills Proficient in diesel engine repair with hands-on experience in a similar role. Strong knowledge of tractor-trailer systems and air brake mechanisms. Experience in brake repair, automotive repair, and general maintenance practices. Familiarity with Caterpillar engines is preferred but not mandatory. Ability to weld and perform minor fabrication tasks as needed. Competence in equipment repair and alignment techniques. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
