- Full-time Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team.
In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel engines and equipment. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of our fleet and machinery. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, suspension systems, and other heavy equipment components using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) schematics and advanced automotive diagnostics tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on farm machinery, excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and other industrial equipment to ensure operational efficiency. Fabricate custom parts or modifications using hand tools, power tools, welding techniques, and soldering when necessary to meet specific repair or operational needs. Execute routine vehicle maintenance tasks such as tire service, brake repair, wheel alignment, and electrical system troubleshooting to minimize downtime. Utilize heavy lifting equipment safely during assembly or disassembly of large machinery components while adhering to safety protocols. Interpret schematics and technical manuals to accurately diagnose issues and implement effective repair solutions. Maintain detailed service records, logs of repairs performed, parts used, and inspections completed to ensure compliance with safety standards and OEM specifications. Qualifications Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in diesel engine repair and heavy equipment maintenance. Dealership experience is highly preferred for familiarity with OEM parts and diagnostic procedures. Proficiency in reading schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding and soldering. Knowledge of excavator, crane, forklift operation, HVAC systems, transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension systems, and alignment procedures. Ability to operate power tools safely while performing complex repairs or assembly tasks. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills; capable of working independently or as part of a team. Customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients regarding repairs or maintenance needs. Physical ability for heavy lifting and working in various environmental conditions; willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
