Diesel Mechanic Rapid Redi-Mix LLC Aubrey, TX Job Details Full-time $30 - $33 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Life insurance Qualifications Diesel engine system repair Vehicle mechanics for truck drivers Diesel mechanics Construction equipment servicing Diesel truck repair Automotive diagnostics Full Job Description Rapid Redi-Mix LLC is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Heavy Equipment/ Diesel Mechanic to perform maintenance and repairs on a fleet of heavy diesel trucks and trailers for our Ready-Mix Concrete Plant. This includes ready mix trucks, front end loaders, tractors, bulk trailers, and aggregate trailers. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, safety-focused, and capable of diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with all safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform maintenance and repairs on ready mix trucks, front end loaders, tractors, bulk trailers, and aggregate trailers. Troubleshoot mechanical issues; accurately diagnose problems and determine the necessary repair methods. Maintain and repair electrical systems, brakes, suspensions, transmissions, hydraulic systems, etc Use technical manuals and schematics to guide diagnostics and repairs. Perform oil changes and general maintenance on heavy-duty vehicles. Operate welders, hoists, standard and specialty tools, and lifting devices safely. Fabricate parts when necessary and reassemble equipment components. Keep detailed and accurate maintenance and repair records daily. Clean and maintain work areas and equipment. Maintain parts inventory and order necessary supplies. Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, MSHA, EPA, DNR, and company safety/environmental regulations. Use proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow all company safety procedures. Assist coworkers as needed and perform other duties as assigned. Communicate effectively with drivers regarding Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR) and maintain positive working relationships.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in both indoor shop and outdoor environments with exposure to varying weather conditions. 10-12 hour days Monday through Friday and every other Saturday. Exposure to dust, fumes, grease, high traffic areas, and loud equipment noise. Must be able to lift, bend, and work in physically demanding environments.
Requirements:
Personal tools required. 4-5 years of experience in diesel/heavy equipment maintenance and repair. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Regular and timely attendance is essential.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with Mack and International trucks. Proficiency in
