Job Description
Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic Position Overview We are looking for a dependable Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Caddo Mills, TX. This role is focused on keeping our and customers fleet of trucks and trailers running safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working around trucks, can handle preventive maintenance, and is motivated to learn and grow with the company. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) on trucks and trailers (oil changes, filters, brakes, tires, etc.). Diagnose and repair diesel engine issues , especially with Cummins and Detroit . Work on DEF/regen systems . Handle basic trailer maintenance (brakes, suspensions, tires, air lines, doors). Perform minor bodywork and light welding when needed. Do tire changes and simple roadside repairs when required (road service is paid on a percentage). Keep accurate repair and parts records . Use basic trucking/diagnostic software (we can train as needed). Follow all company safety standards . Qualifications 3+ years of proven experience as a diesel mechanic or working around Class 8 trucks. Must know how to perform brake jobs, PMs, and basic repairs independently. Experience with Cummins and Detroit engines (preferably hands-on). Knowledge of electrical and trailer systems is a plus. Must be motivated, dependable, and able to work without constant supervision. CDL not required. Compensation Competitive pay (based on experience). Percentage pay for road service calls . Overtime opportunities available.
