Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic Job Summary Join our team as a Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic and play a vital role in supporting marine construction and dredging operations. In this position, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy diesel-powered equipment used in demanding marine environments. Your expertise will ensure equipment reliability, safety, and operational efficiency, contributing directly to the success of our projects in Freeport, TX. Responsibilities Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on diesel-powered heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, cranes, and support machinery. Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems to identify and resolve issues efficiently. Conduct preventative maintenance to enhance equipment longevity and reduce downtime. Inspect equipment for safety compliance and operational readiness. Maintain accurate service records and communicate equipment status and issues to supervisors. Support yard operations by ensuring equipment is prepared and available for marine construction and dredging projects. Requirements Proven experience working on heavy equipment diesel engines and hydraulic systems. Strong ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues. Experience with construction or marine equipment is preferred. Ability to work outdoors in a yard environment with safety awareness and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail. Candidates with a background in heavy equipment maintenance and a passion for working in a fast-paced marine environment are encouraged to apply.
