Transmissions Full Job Description Summary:

Iron Smart Machinery is seeking an experienced heavy equipment field diesel mechanic. This position is responsible for performing maintenance, diagnostics and repair on heavy equipment. Completes repairs effectively and efficiently while maintaining exceptional quality and professionalism. Ensure detailed record of each job through utilization of company application.

Responsibilities:

• Ability to hook up to machines with company laptop and diagnose issues with machine.
• Fabrication and welding (preferred)
• Provide own tools
• Maintain company service truck as well as its attachments.
• Perform preventive maintenance to equipment.
• Identify mechanical and electrical issues on equipment.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance and/or repairs completed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Compliant with all safety protocols, guidelines, and company policy.
• Perform any other job-related duties assigned to meet the needs of the company.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years' experience as a heavy equipment service technician.
• Knowledge in Smart Grade and Trimble GPS (preferred)
• Knowledge of John Deere, Caterpillar, Hamm, Volvo
• Knowledge of hydraulics, engines, electrical, undercarriage, transmissions
• Ability to weld and fabricate (preferred)
• Ability to work independently or with other technicians.
• Excellent communications skills with the ability to work efficiently while maintaining quality.
• Availability to work overtime and some weekends when needed.
• Valid Drivers License with clean driving record.
• Back ground check is required

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Ability to lift and/or move objects weighing up to75 pounds. Mobility for crawling, crouching, safely maneuvering underneath equipment; Climbing up and down from equipment; Balancing. Good vision, hearing, hand-eye coordination for equipment diagnostics, repairs, alarms and signals. Stamina for working in all weather conditions as work environment involves exposure to inclement weather.
