Incorporated in 2016, Lawson Cryogenic has grown from one location with three technicians in Baytown, TX to two locations with 35+ employees in 2026. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tanker Trailer/Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining cryogenic tanker trailers and related pressure vessels, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. Duties Diagnose, repair, and maintain vacuum-insulated tanks, cryogenic pumps, vaporizers, and piping systems Perform mechanical repairs on trailer suspension, air brake systems, electrical systems, and landing gear. Ensure all work meets DOT, OSHA, and company regulations, including testing, purging, and certifying vessels. Perform welding, cutting, and grinding on aluminum, stainless, and carbon steel components. Conduct pre- and post- trip inspections and troubleshoot equipment failures. Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs as necessary on over-the-road Class A, Class B tractors, and tanker trailers. Install Electronic Logging Devices and DashCam units on over the road tractors. Install/Maintain hydraulic units on over the road tractors and trailers. Document/record repair work performed in electronic logging system. Experience Strong mechanical background, with above average computer experience/skills. Knowledge of trailer suspension systems, electrical and hydraulic systems, and brake systems. Welding knowledge and experience - must pass in-house welding test. Knowledge of piping systems, valves and gauges. Ability to read schematics. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail and effective communication skills. Solid work history. Experience with cryogenic systems, vacuum technology, or specialized trailer maintenance preferred. 1 year Brake Certification preferred. 1 year
FMCSA DOT
Annual Inspection Training Certificate preferred. Lawson Cryogenic is an Equal Opportunity Employer and participates in E-Verify. A post-offer background check will also be required.
Pay:
$25.00 - $35.00 per hour
