Job Description

Company Description Ace Fleet Services supports a variety of customers who rely on well-maintained diesel trucks and machinery to run their daily operations. Team members work in a hands-on environment where quality workmanship, reliability, and safety are core priorities. The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for repairing and maintaining client fleet vehicles, trucks and trailers. This position also handles service calls, as needed, at client's locations, while consistently providing exceptional customer service. A qualified candidate is self-motivated, competent, and honest. Role Description Electrical and diagnostic expertise is the foundation of this role
  • Must demonstrate the ability to read wiring diagrams, walk a circuit with a multimeter, and diagnose J1939/CAN, ABS, PLC, aftertreatment and charging/starting systems from first principles Tests and isolates before replacing T
  • Follows a logical, evidence-driven diagnostic sequence every time; does not throw parts at a fault Serves as the working floor lead ; keeps jobs moving and the board flowing Coaches and directs junior technicians without absorbing their work; maintain quality and throughput across the team Owns the Service Order from open to close
  • Maintains accurate documentation, clean narratives, and job status communication that keeps the front office informed and customers confident in progress; the paperwork is part of the work No ego, no drama
  • Lead by doing Qualifications 5+ years of hands-on class 6-8 experience, including electrical and diagnostics High School diploma, or equivalentAvailable to work a minimum of 40 hours per week Ability to pass a drug screening, background check and physical exam Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds Provide own tools; possess ability to safely and effectively use them Able to perform basic computer operations; demonstrate proper care of assigned computer Must be dependable; exhibit appropriate time management skills by reporting to work on time Display a high level of safety consciousness and a clear understanding of equipment safety Problem-solving ability Good written and verbal communication skills with a fine attention to detail License/Certification Current, valid Texas Driver's License (Class A preferred) Clean driving record that meets the insurability guidelines set forth by Ace Fleet Services' insurance carrier.
