Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Diesel Mechanic and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy-duty equipment, including trucks, construction machinery, and industrial vehicles. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical expertise in a fast-paced environment, ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on diesel engines and related systems, contributing to the smooth operation of our fleet and machinery. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, brakes, and electrical systems across various heavy equipment and vehicles. Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, air brake inspections, alignments, and HVAC system checks to ensure optimal performance. Utilize schematics, OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manuals, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues accurately. Conduct fabrication tasks including welding, soldering, assembly, and heavy lifting to modify or repair equipment as needed. Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and document all repairs performed for compliance and future reference. Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers safely while adhering to safety protocols. Assist with equipment repair projects involving farm machinery, industrial equipment, or automotive diagnostics to keep operations running smoothly. Requirements Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engine repair in dealership or industrial settings. Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment systems including hydraulics, powertrains, transmissions, suspension components, and electrical wiring. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other maintenance tools necessary for repairs. Ability to read schematics and OEM manuals for troubleshooting complex mechanical or electrical issues effectively. Experience operating heavy machinery such as excavators or forklifts is highly desirable. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail; capable of performing precise diagnostics using automotive diagnostics tools. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in various environmental conditions. Valid certifications or experience related to brake repair, air brakes systems, HVAC maintenance or welding is preferred. Customer service skills are valued for communicating effectively with team members and clients regarding repairs or maintenance needs.
