Diesel Technician/Mechanic

Candidate is a skilled heavy vehicle, diesel and mobile equipment mechanic with the ability to diagnose problems and perform the appropriate repairs.

MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A DRUG SCREEN.

Tasks include : Maintenance and repairs for dump truck fleet. Dump Trucks, Dump Trailers, Road Tractors and more. Lead troubleshooting and repairs on company equipment. Operation of forklifts and other powered industrial equipment. Communicate effectively with employees, customers and vendors. Maintain paperwork and maintenance software. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

:

MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A DRUG SCREEN.

2+ years experience with heavy equipment or trucks required. High level of experience in Hydraulics, Diesel Engines, emission systems, electrical systems. Must be proficient in diesel aftertreatment systems. Utilize a laptop computer or other diagnostic devices to diagnose and repair equipment. Ability to perform FHWA inspections. Basic Welding and Torch Skills. Write and complete service orders. Candidates must be willing to travel to local customer sites to diagnose and repair equipment. Ability to take initiative and work unsupervised. Own tools necessary for the position. The willingness and availability to work overtime and Saturdays as needed. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Maintain work area and shop in a clean, organized and safe manner. Perform other duties as assigned. Ability to : Lift and carry up to 75 pounds occasionally; crouch or bend at the knees frequently when sorting or picking to increase visibility; climbing to reach work site occasionally; stoop or bend at the waist frequently to increase visibility; reach at arm's length frequently or overhead frequently; twist and turn at the neck and trunk frequently; walk frequently on uneven ground; handle and grasp materials and tools continually; push and pull frequently when sweeping or cleaning; communicate by speech and hearing continually; work outdoors is cold\wet weather.
