PRIMARY FUNCTION
To perform skilled work in the repair and maintenance of all school board vehicles.
QUALIFICATIONS
Preferably a high school diploma or GED certificate. Postsecondary education preferred. Hold a valid commercial driver's license, properly endorsed to drive a school bus, and a valid state inspection license. Ability to operate all vehicle types used in the division. Demonstrated ability to do skilled automotive mechanical work, on gas and diesel vehicles. Ability to plan work and carry out duties without supervision. Ability to work from specifications and oral instructions. Knowledge of safety rules and regulations in relation to trade. Have demonstrated the professional and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with students, school personnel and members of the community.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform preventive maintenance check-ups and service on all school vehicles. To disassemble and assemble all vehicle components such as transmissions, gas and diesel engines, clutches, etc. To complete all repairs on school board vehicles such as the replacement of valves, pistons, and main bearings; assemble cooling, fuel and exhaust systems. To inspect, adjust, repair, and overhaul brakes, transmissions, ignition systems, differentials, and rear axle assemblies. To tune motors. To respond to emergency road calls from disabled school equipment, make minor adjustments, or tow the vehicle to the school bus garage. To install dual brake kits on driver training cars. To keep work area neat, clean, and painted and to clean work area at the end of each work day. To perform a variety of welding jobs. To perform other related work as required by
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Twelve month year. The salary will be determined by the Carroll County School Board.
EVALUATION
Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with school board policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of classified personnel. •CCPSD participates in E-verify and will provide the federal government with your I-9 information to confirm that you are authorized to work in the U.S.
