Job Description

Overview We are seeking a skilled Diesel Service Technician to join our team, providing expert maintenance and repair services for a wide range of heavy-duty diesel equipment. This role involves diagnosing complex mechanical issues, performing repairs, and ensuring equipment operates efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive and heavy equipment repair, with experience working on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Candidates with dealership experience and proficiency with schematics are highly preferred. This position offers an opportunity to work with diverse machinery including farm equipment, industrial machinery, excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and electrical components using schematics and diagnostic tools Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire services, brake repairs, shocks & struts replacement, and vehicle inspections Fabricate parts or components as needed using hand tools and power tools Operate heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers for testing and repair purposes Conduct welding and soldering tasks to repair or modify equipment Use diagnostic software to identify issues accurately and efficiently Maintain detailed service records and ensure compliance with safety standards Assist in assembly or disassembly of machinery during repairs or upgrades Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance procedures clearly Skills Proven experience as a Diesel Service Technician or similar role in a dealership or heavy equipment environment Strong mechanical knowledge across automotive diagnostics, vehicle maintenance, and industrial equipment repair Proficiency with schematics, electrical troubleshooting, and power tools Experience working on heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, and industrial equipment Ability to perform complex repairs including transmissions, air brakes, alignments, hydraulics, HVAC systems, shocks & struts Skilled in welding and soldering techniques for equipment repair or fabrication tasks Capable of heavy lifting safely and efficiently during repairs or parts replacement Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety compliance and quality workmanship Customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients about repairs and maintenance needs This position is ideal for mechanically inclined professionals eager to work on diverse machinery in a dynamic environment. Candidates should possess the necessary technical skills combined with a commitment to safety standards.
