Diesel Service Technician

Southeastern Public Service Authority (SPSA) is a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia. SPSA operates an integrated solid waste management system and serves a region expanding over 2,000 square miles that includes eight member communities (Chesapeake, Franklin, IOW, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Southampton County, Suffolk and VA Beach) in Southeast Virginia since 1985. Equipment Mechanic- Performs maintenance and repair of a wide variety of heavy trucks, trailers, light trucks, automobiles, and their attached and related components, including the replacement and rebuilding of components and the diagnosis of repair and replacement needs. Performs routine service and maintenance in the shop on heavy trucks, automotive, construction, and related diesel and gasoline-powered equipment. Knowledge of techniques required to diagnose problems, rebuild, disassemble, repair, and reassemble heavy trucks, automotive and construction equipment, and their component parts. Knowledge of the principles of operation of gasoline and diesel engines and the ability to skillfully apply that knowledge. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
