Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of our fleet and machinery. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse equipment, including farm machinery, industrial equipment, and heavy-duty trucks, in a fast-paced environment that values precision and proactive service. Responsibilities Perform detailed diagnostics using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) schematics and automotive diagnostics tools to identify mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and air brake issues. Conduct repairs and maintenance on diesel engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, hydraulics, and air systems to ensure safety and operational efficiency. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific repair requirements. Service a variety of heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, trailers, and other industrial machinery. Conduct vehicle inspections including alignment checks, tire service, HVAC systems maintenance, and general vehicle maintenance to uphold safety standards. Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex issues accurately while adhering to OEM specifications. Support heavy lifting tasks safely with proper equipment operation skills for heavy equipment operation and assembly projects. Maintain detailed service records of all repairs performed; communicate effectively with team members and customers regarding repair status and recommendations. Qualifications Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in diesel engine repair and vehicle maintenance. Dealership experience or extensive background working with OEM parts and systems preferred. Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding, soldering, and assembly of mechanical components. Familiarity with heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, farm machinery, and industrial equipment. Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals; experience with automotive diagnostics tools is essential. Knowledge of transmissions, suspension systems, hydraulics, air brakes, HVAC systems, electrical systems, and tire service. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using appropriate tools and equipment; strong mechanical knowledge across multiple systems is required. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members. $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
