Job Description

Fleet Service Diesel & Equip. Technician

  • Exempt A-20 step I Supplemental 30007-58-5805 NSORNA Nisqually's Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act requires all individuals who have ever been convicted of a sex offense to register with our Public Safety Department.

GENERAL SUMMAR Y
The Fleet Services Technician performs automotive and equipment maintenance and repair work for the Nisqually Indian Tribe. Responsibilities include timely and thorough diagnosis and repair of a variety of gasoline powered equipment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform routine maintenance and repair of Tribal construction and farm Perform preventative maintenance services and inspections on equipment and trailer Diagnose and repair diesel-powered Diagnoses, repair, and wire electrical Install, diagnose, and repair, electrical system, hydraulic and air brake Operates a variety of diagnostic engines and other testing Perform drilling, tapping threads, measuring, and simple welding to repair, design, and fabricate for equipment Diagnose and repair hydrostatic, manual transmissions and Test and inspection of emissions Test and inspect completed work to assure proper performance and timely Perform safety Perform other duties as All duties will be taught on the by Fleet Service Mobile Master Mechanic. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience Some experience in the automotive repair & maintenance Must successfully pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug Must have a valid Washington State Driver's License and be insurable under Tribe's insurance Must be an Enrolled Nisqually Tribal member and at least 21 years of Must pass a State and National (FBI) criminal history background check prior to

Knowledge of the Nisqually Indian Tribe's history, customs, traditions, and ability to demonstrate cultural sensitivity. Experience working with Federally Recognized Some experience working/repairing diesel Eager to learn and excel in automotive

COMPETENCIES
Knowledge of gas
  • & diesel-powered equipment and engines.
Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs for Ability to complete work in a timely manner and in accordance with required quality Ability to operate a personal computer or Ability to understand and follow oral and written Ability to communicate effectively with others, orally and in Ability to work effectively with Ability to pass required diesel equipment Once apprentice training has been signed off by Mobile Master Mechanic, this position will be promoted to Fleet Diesel & Equipment A-23 Step
