Job Title:
Diesel Mechanic Job Description We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting preventative maintenance and repairs on trucks and equipment to ensure roadworthiness and efficient operation. You will be expected to document and enter data for all service and repair work, ensuring compliance with Department of Transportation rules and company policies. Responsibilities Conduct preventative maintenance of all trucks and equipment, including daily inspections, greasing, and basic maintenance. Prepare and complete paperwork or computer data entry for all service and repair work for documentation and record-keeping purposes. Perform repairs and maintenance on trucks and equipment in areas such as hydraulics, cylinders, brake repair, electrical systems, engines, and body, which may include welding. Service vehicles and equipment at predetermined intervals in accordance with company policies, manufacturer specifications, and applicable regulations. Perform all other duties and special projects for management team members as assigned. Attend all necessary meetings, including safety, training, and other company-scheduled meetings. Essential Skills Diesel troubleshooting and repair Hydraulics and electrical systems maintenance Preventive maintenance and transmission work Welding and fleet maintenance Pneumatics and diagnosis Completion of Diesel Mechanic education program or 3 years of experience in a full-service diesel repair shop CDL Class B required, Class A preferred USDOT medical certificate (med card) required Additional Skills & Qualifications Subject to drug screening as required by USDOT or company policy Must complete other safety and skills training when scheduled by the company Why Work Here?
