Job Description

SUMMARY The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for the maintenance of all vehicles, heavy duty trucks, trailers, and application fleet for the company to ensure maximum equipment efficiency, effectiveness, and reliability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(Includes the following and other duties as assigned.) Responsible for analyzing and organizingoffice operations and procedures such as bookkeeping, preparation of payrolls,new hire orientation and benefits,information management, filing, requisition of supplies, and other administrative servicesCompletes inspections and all preventive maintenance requirements for the company's vehicles, heavy duty trucks, trailers and application fleet. Corrects vehicle/equipment deficiencies and maintains vehicle/equipment records by annotating services and repairs. Performs general maintenance including but not limited to grease, oil changes, brakes, tires, wheel seals, etc. Works with other department employees to schedule maintenance of vehicles/equipment. Contains costs by using warranties and evaluating service and parts options. Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock and placing orders. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical and regulation publications. Adhere to standards set by state DOT for motor vehicle inspections and safety standards. Maintains and promotes safety awareness; follows safety policies, procedures, and reporting requirements. Possess and utilize effective skills in the following areas: problem-solving, customer service, computers, and communication. Proper and safe use of all hand tools. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Maintain an organized shop and clean work environment. Possess and maintain a clean driving record. Comply with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations. Maintain effective interactions with employees, management, and vendors, which could include managing difficult or emotional situations. Eagerly seek ways to meet needs, answering questions, responding to complaints, and satisfying commitments. Seek out ways to be a collaborator within the organization which could include working with and supporting other departments. Responsible for understanding and enforcing Adell Cooperative policies and procedures. Capable of multitasking, working through stress and interruptions, all while maintaining patience and professional communication. Promote safety awareness within the organization by following all applicable rules, procedures, and reporting needs. Effectively communicates by verbal and written means with employees, and management. Maintains a positive attitude that promotes teamwork within the cooperative. Presents a clean and professional appearance. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, as needed. Responsible for prompt and regular attendance. Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent; or 2 years of automotive repair experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with diesel technology is preferred. Fabrication experience is a plus but not required. Willing to seek out and attend additional continuing education, seminars, classes or other job related education requirements or opportunities.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Capable of reading and understanding documents including operating and maintenance instructions, safety procedures, and other policies. Capable of writing correspondence and reports. Effective speaking/verbal skills with customers and employees within the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Basic mathematical skills are required for this role including the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide numerical values.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Must possess some basic computer operation skills.
REASONING ABILITY
Apply basic understanding as it relates to conducting instructions whether written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to juggle problems that may include multiple variables and unique/complex situations. Have the capability of thinking quickly, assessing hazards, using necessary precautions, selecting appropriate PPE as required by specific needs, regulations, or labels.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record required. Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is preferred (or ability to obtain and maintain). Must be 18 years of age.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
As an employee your duties may require standing, walking, and sitting. Additionally, you may be required to use your hands to finger, handle or feel. Reaching with hands and arms or climbing and balancing may be required. Stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling are additional potential demands. Situations that require talking, hearing, or smelling may occur. You will be regularly lifting or moving 50 pounds or more, and occasionally lifting or moving 100 pounds or more. The use of ladders might be required climbing to a height of 20' as well as climbing stairs. You might have to use close, distant, color or peripheral vision including depth perception and focus. Employees must understand and implement all related safety policies, procedures and programs for prevention and protection while performing job duties in various work environments.

The noise environment has the potential to be loud (not to exceed the eight-hour threshold for working in or around equipment). As an employee you must understand, acknowledge, and implement all related polices/procedures related to safety including prevention and protection programs for the various job duties and environments encountered.

$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
