Job Description

Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to diagnose and repair diesel buses. The ideal candidate has strong troubleshooting skills and extensive knowledge of diesel engines. This role is critical to ensuring the safety and reliability of our transportation fleet. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled inspections on diesel buses. Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, suspension, steering, braking, HVAC, and electrical systems. Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electronic issues using diagnostic equipment and software. Conduct repairs on diesel engines, fuel systems, cooling systems, and exhaust systems. Inspect buses to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Perform road tests to verify repairs and vehicle performance. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred. 10+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic, bus mechanic, or heavy-duty vehicle technician. Strong knowledge of diesel engines and heavy vehicle systems. Experience with computerized diagnostic tools and repair software. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair instructions. Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred or ability to obtain one. ASE certifications in Medium/Heavy Truck or Transit Bus specialties are preferred. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in various weather and shop conditions. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Time management and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday 8am - 4pm with some flexibility This is a seasonal position for the next 3-4 months. Potential to go longer dependent on workload. Pay is based on experience.

$25.00 - $40.00 per hour
