Job Description

Overview We are seeking a Diesel Technician to join our family owned team. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can diagnose issues and perform repairs while ensuring all equipment is operating efficiently and safely.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Troubleshoot issues using schematics and automotive diagnostic tools Conduct routine maintenance, DOT inspections and a wide variety of service jobs on vehicles, including trucks, compact tractors, RV's, etc. Proactively think through the job at hand using charges, experience and verbal brainstorming with teammates when needed Dismantle, reassemble, repair, adjust, etc necessary units and parts Write detailed inspection reports and repair plans Follow all repair shop regulations and standards May travel to other company locations if needed React to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills Diesel mechanic experience preferred Open to entry level experience with a willingness to learn Knowledge of methods, materials, tools and techniques used in the automotive, heavy truck and equipment industry Ability to maintain detailed and routine record keeping CDL, ASE, and state and/or federal inspection certifications are a preferred Active and current Class D driver's license is required Experience with CDK Global is a plus Satisfactory work record and High School diploma or equivalent Teamwork, positive attitude and the ability to work independently are a must
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Exerting up to 50 - 100+ pounds of force required to lift, push, pull, or otherwise to move objects Close visual acuity required for operating machines and motor vehicles, as well as performing various tasks such as inspections involving small defects, using measurement devices, working with small parts, and assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eye, etc. Both internal and external environmental conditions daily, including extreme weather conditions Standing, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and reaching for sustained periods of time Ongoing loud noises throughout the day "Shop Style" environment which includes a variety of physical working conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts/vehicles, exposure to chemicals, fumes, odors, dust, gases, etc.
