Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Fleet Diesel Mechanic and become a vital part of maintaining a reliable, efficient fleet of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. In this energetic role, you'll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and various heavy machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will keep our operations running smoothly, supporting our commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension, and HVAC components using automotive diagnostics tools and schematics. Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, shocks, wheel alignments, and general vehicle inspections. Repair and fabricate parts using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently. Service heavy equipment such as tractor-trailers with precision and attention to detail. Troubleshoot electrical systems including soldering connections and diagnosing electrical issues in automotive repair scenarios. Assist with assembly and disassembly of complex equipment components. Maintain detailed records of repairs performed, parts used, and maintenance schedules to ensure compliance with safety standards and operational efficiency. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge across a wide range of machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and farm machinery. Skilled in reading schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex systems. Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools required for equipment repair. Expertise in diesel engine repair, brake systems (including air brakes), transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, shocks & struts. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working on large machinery or vehicle components. Excellent customer service skills when interacting with internal teams or external clients regarding repairs or maintenance needs. $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
