Full Job Description Bus Technician Work Site:
Madison, WI Schedule:
1st shift, Monday through
Friday Timing:
8-hour shifts scheduled between 5 am and 5 pm
Compensation:
26-32 dollars per hour We are looking for a talented and driven technician to help us maintain our transportation fleet. If you have a passion for vehicle repair and want to contribute to the reliability of buses used for special education, we invite you to join our team. You will play a vital role in keeping our Ford Vans and short buses in top condition, ensuring they are safe and ready for daily service in a collaborative and fast-paced setting. Core Competencies Possess at least two years of mechanical experience or hold a recent trade school degree Maintain a current driver's license and be open to earning a CDL with company-provided training and compensation Own a personal toolbox equipped with standard hand tools Execute routine preventive maintenance tasks such as replacing filters, changing fluids, and lubrication Perform fundamental vehicle inspections and necessary repairs Demonstrate a strong work ethic, a helpful demeanor, and a dedication to consistent attendance and workplace safety Support senior technicians by assisting with repairs under their guidance Prior background working with heavy machinery is considered an asset Additional Qualifications Background in fleet equipment maintenance Hold or be willing to earn ASE certifications, which provide extra compensation Eager to develop new technical abilities and advance your career with us Education and Experience Completion of high school or a vocational certification Minimum of two years in a mechanical role or a recent graduate of a technical program General Requirements Must be at least 21 years of age Available to work the 1st shift schedule from 5 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday Maintain consistent attendance and strictly follow all safety guidelines Consent to necessary background screenings, DMV checks, and the licensing process We provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan, paid time off, and paid holidays.
