Responsibilities Perform PM services such as oil or fluid changes, DOT inspections, grease/lube, etc. in regular intervals and completing appropriate paperwork or business system tasks to track & follow-through Perform truck services as needed beyond typical PMs - such as alternator/starter replacement, A/C service, light body repairs, radiator or cooling system services, brake services, etc. Ability to diagnose issues with vehicles and communicate with management or customers Perform truck check-in or check-out procedures such as light cleanup, washing, refueling, removing decals or license plates, basic inspections of components under supervision of technicians Ability to drive trucks or company cars between locations as needed Complete all safety and technical training for Idealease Fleet Technicians Other duties as assigned Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent; Vocational or technical certification on vehicle repairs 3+ years of Technician experience, fleet or dealership Training and experience in the diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components (engines, transmissions, differentials), OEM training courses, ASE Certification, and 608/609 certifications Ability to work with diagnostics computer for troubleshooting and repairs Must have your own toolset to perform assigned responsibilities Ability to obtain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record What You Can Expect as an Experienced Diesel Technician As an experienced diesel technician, you will work independently, performing both major and minor repairs. Diagnosing all-makes commercial trucks and buses and completing maintenance work consistent with Lakeside best practices and industry standards. As an expert, you are considered a lead technician and may serve as a mentor for developing diesel technicians at the dealership. Training We train for a lifetime.
