Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in Class 6, 7, and 8 trucks. Perform maintenance, inspections, and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, air/hydraulic brakes, suspensions, clutches, and electrical systems. Utilize OEM diagnostic software and tools to ensure accurate assessments and repairs. Clearly communicate findings, recommended repairs, and service updates with Service Advisors and Parts Counter Associates. Maintain detailed repair orders and documentation of all repairs in accordance with dealership and manufacturer standards. Road test vehicles to confirm proper repairs when required. Participate in our OEM-directed training path to stay current on new technologies, repair techniques, and warranty guidelines. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations (OSHA, hazardous waste disposal, etc.). Keep the shop area clean and organized, ensuring all tools are maintained properly.Qualifications & Skills:
Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with diesel engines and heavy-duty truck repairs required. Proficiency in diagnostic fault-code troubleshooting using laptop-based software. Ability to navigate dealer management and OEM diagnostic systems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to relay technical information clearly. Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform tasks such as walking, reaching, kneeling, climbing, and standing for extended periods. Forklift operation experience is a plus but not required. Sound judgment and ability to make logical decisions in a fast-paced service environment. Ability to remain professional at all times and work collaboratively with other technicians to complete repairs.Education & Work Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Two years of hands-on mechanical experience or completion of/active enrollment in an accredited diesel program required Basic tool set required- specialty tools provided.
