This urban mining environment and private ownership structure are the foundation for our commitment to building and operating great facilities for our neighbors, customers, employees, and vendors. Job Summary Perform preventative maintenance and service on all heavy mobile equipment to ensure Lannon Stone equipment is safe to operate and protect the investment in the equipment. Job Functions Embrace role in making the quarry safe and take initiative to fix safety issues Inspect equipment to ensure performance and safety standards are met Perform and supervise all 1000 and 2000-hour services on mobile equipment Train mobile equipment operators to perform all 250 and 500 services on mobile equipment Remain "on-call" as a field technician to ensure uptime on critical mobile equipment Stay informed of all maintenance issues with fleet, ensuring that repairs are prioritized appropriately Discuss, troubleshoot, and diagnose issues with equipment operators, turning problems into training Perform software diagnostics and collaborate with other mechanics to resolve complex technical issues Order necessary parts for repairs and preventative maintenance Maintain a clean and organized shop at all times Maintain a clean and well-groomed personal appearance. Grooming styles dictated by religion and ethnicity are not restricted. Must avoid clothing with stamps that are offensive or inappropriate. Operate mobile equipment to assist in production as needed An individual in this position must be able to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above. Working Environment Up to 100% of time spent in manufacturing environments around industrial equipment. Up to 25% of time spent driving a vehicle. Environment will have extreme temperatures, strong odors, fuels, dust, grease, and other manufacturing features. Competencies Required Integrity & Trust Priority Setting Perseverance Composure Problem Solving Functional / Technical Skills Self-Development Business Acumen Approachability Informing Confronting Others Boss Relationships Minimum Qualifications Associate degree in diesel technology Basic math proficiency Basic electrical knowledge Basic principles of physics English at minimum, Spanish is a plus Professional written and oral communication Minimum 10 years field experience Driver's license with clean driving record Embrace a team environment where all members contribute to the success of the operation Willing to work in a multi-disciplinary environment, learning and performing a variety of jobs Punctual and reliable, good attendance required Must pass pre-employment functional test, physical and drug screen Physical and Mental Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to frequently sit, crawl, climb, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift (75 lbs.). Employee must be able to hear equipment running to analyze failures. Sight is mandatory to ensure safety while performing essential tasks on mobile equipment. Employee must be able to understand issues, problems, and opportunities and make timely and sound decisions. Employee must take responsibility for decisions and understand the impact and implications of decisions and provide feedback as necessary. Employee must be able to communicate with other employees to ensure proper training and relaying repair and maintenance information. Must be able to lead a small team of mobile equipment operators for repairs and maintenance and have a vast working knowledge of all Lannon Stone mobile equipment. Employee must be able to demonstrate personal management to prioritize workload, review equipment as needed, and manage time spent on tasks. Employee must develop a working relationship with vendor to ensure timely and cost efficient purchases. Employee must have training skills to properly train new mobile equipment operators on quarry trucks. Employee must demonstrate attention to detail, managing interruptions, meeting deadlines, and plan through work tasks.
