Job Overview Are you a skilled Diesel Mechanic with a passion for heavy equipment and trucks? Join our team and take charge of maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of construction machinery and commercial vehicles. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with equipment, enhance your technical expertise, and contribute to the success of construction projects. Your mechanical knowledge, hands-on skills, and dedication will keep our fleet running smoothly and safely every day. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brake systems on construction equipment and trucks. Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure safe operating and optimal performance of heavy trucks, tri-axles, roll-off trucks, concrete pumps, skid steers, excavators, trailers, and other construction equipment. Utilize schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot electrical systems, HVAC units, shocks & struts, and other mechanical components. Fabricate parts or modifications as needed using power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and hand tools to meet operational requirements. Repair or replace components such as brakes, tires, shocks & struts, wheel alignments, and perform wheel service to maximize safety and efficiency. Maintain accurate detailed service records including work performed, parts used, and diagnostic findings to ensure compliance with safety standards. Keep shop and work areas clean and organized Assist in heavy lifting operations and equipment assembly or disassembly for repairs or upgrades in the shop or on-site locations. Requirements Valid driver's license (CDL preferred but not required). Proven experience working as a Diesel Mechanic (construction or heavy equipment preferred) in a dealership environment or heavy equipment setting. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and vehicle maintenance procedures. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; familiarity with schematics is essential for troubleshooting complex systems. Ability to operate heavy equipment including skid steers, excavators, forklifts, trailers, and construction machinery safely and efficiently. Proficiency in automotive diagnostics software and electrical troubleshooting methods. Familiarity with industrial equipment repair standards including HVAC systems on heavy machinery. Excellent problem-solving skills. Physical ability for heavy lifting; comfortable working in various weather conditions; commitment to safety protocols at all times.
