Job Description

A long-established diesel truck repair shop is hiring a Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic in Rawlins, WY to handle complete truck service, major engine repairs, and electrical diagnostics. Ideal candidates bring diesel engine, electrical, and powertrain repair experience. Apply today for steady shop work and ongoing training. Duties & Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues using diagnostic tools, schematics, and service manuals. Perform diesel engine, transmission, drivetrain, and powertrain repairs on trucks, vehicles, and heavy machinery. Complete preventive maintenance, brake repairs, fluid services, tire alignments, and related vehicle service work. Repair or replace electrical systems, electronic modules, components, and related vehicle systems. Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialty repair tools to complete accurate, quality repairs. Document inspections, troubleshooting steps, repairs completed, and relevant vehicle information.
Requirements Required:
Proven mechanic experience in diesel repair, automotive repair, heavy machinery, or a similar service environment. Hands-on experience repairing diesel engines, electrical systems, powertrain components, and vehicle maintenance issues. Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues using diagnostic tools, schematics, and service manuals. Experience performing wheel alignments, brake repairs, preventive maintenance, and precision powertrain work. Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and automotive service tools. Strong mechanical aptitude, dependable work habits, and ability to communicate repair needs clearly with customers and team members.
Preferred:
Journeyman Technician certification or equivalent technical training in automotive or diesel repair. Dealership or automotive repair shop background. #PJ1
Compensation:
$25.00 - $30.00/hour starting pay based on previous experience, certifications, and training Ongoing training Benefits available on the 1st of the month after 60 days: Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and more
Long-Term Disability Retirement Plan Shifts:
Day Shift, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday Overtime available and paid after 40 hours/week Rotating on-call schedule
