(EPS) is an engineering and consulting firm specializing in power system operations, design, and maintenance. Our work spans planning studies, system design, construction, testing, and periodic maintenance—serving clients in the utility and petroleum sectors across Alaska, the Pacific Northwest, Hawaii, and the South Pacific. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Substation Testing & Commissioning Manager to lead and support our Substation Technician team in Anchorage, Alaska. This role involves hands-on field testing as well as project management, client coordination, and administrative duties. The applicant must reside in Alaska for this position. Key Responsibilities Lead and perform testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of substation and generation equipment Manage small to mid-sized projects including estimating, quoting, and direct client communication Oversee and coordinate work for field technicians and support project execution Balance field work with office tasks such as documentation, scheduling, and reporting Identify new project opportunities and support business development efforts
Qualifications Education:
Associate degree or equivalent (technical school, military training); engineering degree preferred
Experience:
10+ years of hands-on experience with high-voltage power systems, relays, controls, or substation apparatus Familiarity with project management, estimating, and direct client interaction Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel NETA or NICET Power Testing certification is a plus Valid driver's license and insurable driving record required Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and self-management Willing and able to relocate to Alaska if not currently residing there Willingness to travel extensively within Alaska, as well as to the Pacific Northwest, Hawaii, and the South Pacific Preferred Experience with Test Equipment Omicron 356 (or equivalent relay test set) Doble
