Key Accountabilities The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for: Applying manufacturers' instructions for testing, adjusting and maintaining equipment. Reading and analyzing AC and DC prints and test results. Installing, acceptance testing, repair, and investigating questionable operations, of all types of relays, instrument transformers, telemetering equipment, load control equipment, supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) equipment, and oscillographic equipment. Capable of preparing written reports and sketches, able to discriminate as to circuits and equipment clearances in order to safely perform the work. Execute the necessary switching operations in accordance with a duly authorized switching order. Capable of working on energized equipment without causing interruptions to service. Setting, testing, calibrating, adjusting and repairing all types of protective relays. Perform all necessary system operational tests to insure proper functional performance of complete protection, control, telemetering, and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems. The successful candidate will be required to work overtime on an as needed basis and participate in national grid's Emergency Restoration Program. Operation of a motor vehicle and possession of a valid New York State motor operators license is required. Qualifications An Associates Degree from an accredited college in Electrical Technology is required. Applicants will need to provide a copy of their degree, a copy of their official college transcript and pass a written screening exam to be considered for this position.
