Job Description
Lead Service Technicians are seasoned technical professionals who oversee service teams responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of critical power systems, including UPS systems, battery systems, and DC power equipment. This role provides advanced technical leadership, mentors junior technicians, and ensures consistent delivery of high-quality, customer-focused service in alignment with company standards and safety requirements. Lead service technicians guide teams in performing preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and installations of power systems, UPS equipment, battery systems, and DC power solutions. Diagnose complex technical issues with power equipment including rectifiers, inverters, converters, and batteries and develop repair strategies. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior technicians and apprentices. Coordinate with customers, project managers, and engineering teams to plan and execute service projects. Ensure all work meets safety standards and quality requirements. Maintain detailed service records, prepare technical reports, and document equipment conditions. Order parts and materials needed for repairs and maintenance. Provide technical training to customers on equipment operation and maintenance procedures. Support sales teams with technical expertise during customer visits. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry standards. Participate in on-call rotation for emergency service calls. High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate's degree in electrical technology preferred. A minimum of 4+ years of experience installing and maintaining -48VDC/Telcom power systems, 480VDC UPS battery cabinets, 125-volt switchgear systems, electrical equipment service. Strong electrical and electronic troubleshooting skills. Experience with power system components, batteries, rectifiers, and control systems. Ability to read electrical schematics, technical manuals, and equipment specifications. Leadership and mentoring capabilities. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Ability to obtain security clearances as needed for customer sites. Strong communication skills for customer interaction and team leadership. Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Ability to lift upwards of 75 pounds independently. Work in various environments including industrial facilities, data centers, and outdoor installations. Climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods. Manual dexterity for electrical work and equipment manipulation. Travel is required, which can include out-of-state travel up to two weeks at a time. We will make every effort, depending on the nature of the project, to get you home to your family on the weekends. Successful completion of pre-employment requirements, including a drug screen, background check, DOT medical exam, and blood draw, is required.
