Substation Technician - West

Utili-Serve is seeking a dedicated Below Grade Technician to assist with the construction and modification of electrical substations. This hands-on role involves working under direct supervision in a physically demanding environment that includes confined spaces, elevated work areas, and exposure to energized equipment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, excellent decision-making abilities, and the flexibility to adapt to changing work conditions and locations.

Responsibilities:

Construct and modify electrical substations in accordance with project specifications and safety guidelines. Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements. Participate in day-to-day team activities and field operations. Follow through on tasks, questions, and concerns in a timely and professional manner. Represent the company with professionalism at all times. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete projects accurately and efficiently. Contribute to open communication and a positive team environment. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent required Previous experience in construction or a related field preferred Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding, and dynamic environment. Knowledge of construction practices, quality standards, and applicable codes. Familiarity with substation structural drawings (elevations, plan views, grounding details, and foundation plans). Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights up to 125 feet. Ability to safely work near energized substation equipment. Capable of lifting 50+ lbs. and learning to operate heavy equipment.
