Job Description

Qualifications:
Strong working knowledge of NETA standards, as well as IEEE and NEMA specifications related to low- and medium-voltage switchgear Solid understanding of switchgear systems, including protective relays and control systems, with the ability to support operation, maintenance, and testing activities Hands-on experience with low- and medium-voltage switchgear, including teardown, inspection, repair, reassembly, and functional testing Proven ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues in both shop and field environments Experience training or mentoring team members on troubleshooting, repair, and testing of power distribution equipment
Additional Requirements:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; must be able to pass a medical examination Physically capable of safely performing job duties, including lifting up to 50 lbs, prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, and working at heights Ability to pass a background screening High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education such as vocational training, technical school (e.g., substation maintenance, relay testing), or a college degree is preferred NETA or NICET Level II (or higher) certification in Electrical Power Testing is required Experience in both field testing/troubleshooting and in-shop circuit breaker overhaul work is essential Prior experience in the power distribution industry strongly preferred

Strong organizational abilities with clear written and verbal communication skills Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively Professional communication skills when interacting with customers, vendors, and colleagues Willingness and ability to travel frequently to customer sites Self-starter who can manage multiple tasks independently Proficiency with standard computer applications, including Word, Excel, and email Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment for all personnel Motivated, dependable, and forward-thinking with a positive, solution-oriented attitude
Education:
