Job Description

Job Title:
Field Services Engineer Job Location- Onsite [5 days a week]- Waltham, MA, USA
  • Please note, this role is not able to offer visa transfer or sponsorship now or in the future
  • The Field Services Engineer is responsible for supporting end-user computing (EUC) and field services transition activities, service analysis, customer engagement, and ongoing operational oversight.
This role plays a critical part in knowledge gathering, due diligence, service design validation, and service delivery governance, working closely with customers, third-party partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure high-quality, SLA-driven service outcomes. In this role, you will
  • Support EUC and Field Services transition activities to ensure smooth service onboarding and handover.
  • Provide operational governance through ITIL process adherence (Incident, Problem, Change, Configuration, IMAC, Break‑Fix, and Service Request Management), including ticket reviews and SLA/KPI performance management.
  • Conduct service analysis aligned to SLAs, operational requirements, and service design validation.
  • Lead and contribute to knowledge gathering and documentation from customers, incumbents, and partners.
  • Perform due diligence activities to support accurate service scope definition and delivery readiness.
  • Engage directly with customers to understand service expectations and operational processes.
  • Collaborate closely with third‑party partners and internal stakeholders to govern service delivery.
  • Ensure high-quality, SLA-driven service outcomes through ongoing operational oversight and coordination.
What you'll need to succeed (required skills) Technical & Process Knowledge Strong understanding of EUC and Field Services delivery models. Deep knowledge of ITIL processes, particularly Incident, Problem, Change, Configuration, IMAC, and Service Request Management. Proven experience working with SLAs, KPIs, and service performance metrics. Professional Skills Strong customer relationship management and communication skills. Strong vendor and partner management capabilities. Proven ability to work cross-functionally across multiple IT service towers. Effective project and workstream management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in parallel. Strong documentation, analysis, and reporting skills.

  • ITIL Foundation or higher certification.
  • Experience supporting EUC and Field Services transitions in an outsourced or managed services environment.
  • Experience supporting RFP, BAFO, and pre-sales due diligence activities.
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $50,000 to $65,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
