We are looking for a Field Service Engineer
- Skid Assembly . This position will be based in Knightdale, NC , in the Raleigh area. In this hands-on, field-focused role, you will support the Electrification & Automation (EA) Business Unit by installing, testing, commissioning, and servicing low
- and medium-voltage power distribution equipment. This position is primarily based at the EA manufacturing facility but also supports customer sites across the U.S., contributing directly to safe, reliable, and high-quality electrical system performance. You'll make a difference by: Supervising installation, performing testing, commissioning, and start-up of low
- and medium-voltage (480V-38kV) power distribution equipment Supporting skid-based and packaged electrical power systems throughout assembly, deployment, and commissioning Troubleshooting, analyzing test results, and performing condition assessments on breakers, switchgear, and related equipment Performing preventive and corrective maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on electrical systems and control circuits Supporting greenfield and brownfield customer installations across Siemens projects in the United States Providing technical support, training, and consultation to customers and internal partners Working safely and in compliance with OSHA and applicable safety standards at all times
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required 1+ years of experience with the following: Low- and medium-voltage switchgear and power distribution systems Installation, testing, commissioning, and start-up of electrical equipment Troubleshooting and repair of electrical control circuits Breakers or high-voltage equipment testing, including data analysis and condition assessment Use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Ability to travel up to 25% domestically, based on project and site needs Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline Experience with protection, control, and relay systems Experience with high-voltage and SF₆ gas circuit breakers Familiarity with project management tools or software Certifications or credentials such asNETA, NICET, MSHA 46/48, OSHA 30, NFPA
