Job Description

Job Description Demonstrates expert-level knowledge of all company Building Automation Systems (BAS), with the ability to solve or guide others through highly complex issues. Serves as a Team Leader for Field Engineers, leads proactive and in-depth customer engagement, and mentors Field Supervisors across all areas of development.
Essential Functions:
  • Start up, commission, and recommission BAS systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues; guide others and coordinate with subcontractors/trades
  • Deliver turnkey projects (medium to large), including: ○ Complex AHUs (multi-zone, VFD, multi-coil) ○ Complex chilled water systems (redundant/primary-secondary loops) ○ Sequenced hot water systems (3+ boilers) ○ Third-party integrations and network systems
  • Complete commissioning documentation and maintain accurate as-built drawings (EDS, Visio, Excel, Word)
  • Submit all required administrative work on time (timesheets, expenses, work orders, status reports)
  • Manage full system operation (controllers to sensors), including software loading, integrations, alarms, trends, reporting, and IT coordination; perform system calibration
  • Execute both standalone and full-building (networked) commissioning
  • Conduct site-specific system training for owners/operators
  • Set up operator workstations and perform regular database backups
  • Support project turnover to service teams
  • Mentor Field Engineers; act as a technical resource and assist with estimating on complex projects
  • Communicate proactively with customers; track progress, provide updates, and escalate issues or improvement opportunities to project management

  • Team leader that is able to assist Field Supervisor mentoring and managing FE's.
  • Must have thorough understanding of systems software to write or recommend modifications to logic as needed.
  • Able to create, download, and troubleshoot complex HVAC system logic using WebCTRL and associated software.
  • Expert with all WebCTRL software functions and utilities.
  • Expert on all 3rd party integrations (BACnet, LON, Modbus, N2, etc.)
  • Advance knowledge of TCP/IP networks including wireless technology, including layout and troubleshooting.
  • Able to read and understand Architectural, Mechanical, and Electrical blueprints.
  • Proficient with Microsoft software products: Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power BI
  • Bachelors, Associates, or Certifications in the field
  • Proficient with advanced building automation software, such as WebCTRL, and installing building automation controls.
  • TCP/IP network experience including wireless technology
